About the event

Courtesy of the brothers Carter, Pittsburgh is now the  official city of Brotherly... Jazz. With all due respect to  Philadelphia, city of Brotherly Love, Winston and Charles (Chaz) Carter  plan to initiate a steel city makeover, giving it the OFFICIAL new  moniker as the City of Brotherly Contemporary Jazz with a flavor of  R&B. The Carter Brothers note, "We like to electrify our audiences with high energy and love. Pittsburgh is our home, but we plan to spread  the message of Brother 2 Brother featuring Carter Carter to all music  aficionados worldwide". The Brothers' debut release, “Can I Take You  There” (Grandiora Entertainment) will certainly do all that... and more. They have appeared live as openers for artists such as  Cameo, Bobby Brown, George Clinton Funkadelic Parliament, Norman  Connors, Glen Jones, Rodger Troutman, Levert, Angela Bofill, Roy Ayers,  Regina Belle, Cameo, Elon Troutman, Pieces of A Dream and the list goes  on. The Carter Brothers plan to tour extensively on the strength of  their new project. The unique blend of contemporary jazz and R&B is  sure to be a hit with the contemporary jazz R&B audience. The  brothers note, "We're experienced musicians and playing contemporary  jazz R&B gives us the chance to demonstrate our skills.” Brothers in every sense of the word, they come from a  strong music legacy. The brothers were introduced to music early by  father Charles, Sr. and their late grandfather Ernest Williams, who was a  nationally recognized jazz guitarist. Earning their musical stripes  early on, while Winston worked in Los Angeles with Nancy Wilson's  musical director Phil Wright and the musical arranger for Earth Wind  & Fire, Tom Tom 84, Chaz teamed up with Nick Cenci, president of  Zanzibar Records formerly with Motown. Chaz recorded the single "Go For  Love" which was produced by Mike Ortega (who worked with jazz fusionist  Nicota and Phillip Yoo of Maze). This single was the winner of the  Budweiser Showdown Tournament of Jams sponsored by WAMO & Capital  Records. Chaz and Winston then teamed up with the nationally and  internationally known Norman Connors who produced their CD "Forever".  Norman has discovered greats like Norman Brown, Phyllis Hyman, Michael  Henderson, Marion Meadows and a host of other artists. Also the Carter  brothers worked with Marlon McClain, Denise Stewart, and Herman Jackson. Together again the Carter brothers teamed up with LA  producer “Chuck Cymone” entitling their new cd “Can I Take You There”.  Chuck Cymone is known in the industry as the A –team producer. Chuck is  credited for producing artists such as Eric Darius, Peter White, Gerald  Albright, Richard Elliot, Norman Connors, Christopher Williams, Paul  Jackson, Commodores, George Howard, Chris Standring, Jeanette Harris and  now Brother2Brother featuring Carter Carter.
