About the event
JEFF TAYLOR has already toured, collaborated, and recorded with some of music’s brightest luminaries on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2022, he stepped into the spotlight himself with his debut full length-album, “A Deeper Kind.” The record features drummer Matt Johnson (Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright, St.Vincent), Jesske Hume (Conor Oberst, Felice Brothers, Margaret Glaspy), and Jason Lindner (David Bowie, Angelique Kidjo) and was produced by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Kurt Vile, Dinosaur Jr.,Thurston Moore).Working on stage and in the studio with the likes of Sara Bareilles, Lucius, Chris Thile, Trixie Whitley, Mark Guiliana, and Donny McCaslin, Jeff Taylor’s unique talents and musical versatility have been celebrated since his early days of performing on New York City’s Lower East Side at Rockwood MusicHall.Along with partner Geoff Stanfield, Taylor is also one half of the Seattle-based psych rock band, Farmer. The group’s debut LP ‘The Color That Suits You’ is set for release on March 29, 2024 on Sure!recordings. Farmer’s first single, ‘Cruel (The Only One) Feat. Leah Siegel’ is out now on all streamingplatforms. From 2017-2019, Jeff wrote and recorded with the Donny McCaslin Group (David Bowie’s ‘Blackstar’band), embarking on an extensive world tour. Together with McCaslin, he co-wrote the song, ‘TinyKingdom,’ available on the Grammy award-winning saxophonist’s LP, “Blow!” In 2018, Taylor co-fronted distinguished composer Marike van Dijk‘s The Stereography Project, performing in the United States andEurope and featuring arrangements of his songs for a 12-piece wind-and-string ensemble. A lush, live-to-tape LP of these arrangements, was recorded at The Bunker in NYC and released under the van Dijk /Stereography moniker.
