Leila Rhodes 'Still Dreaming' EP Release

Leila Rhodes, music moniker of the Pittsburgh born musician Malasia Hawthorne, is a blues funk-hip hop-jazz-RnB and soul guitar playing singer/songwriter from Penn Hills, PA currently residing in Los Angeles, CA as a full time musician. She has been playing violin in orchestra since the age 10 and began dreaming of being a professional musician ever since. Her favorite pastimes include: music producing, not only producing her own music, but often making beats for fellow artists and friends, some that can be found on her online beat store. She also enjoys cooking, sample flipping, and  experimenting with using random sounds in nature as tools to produce songs from. 

She has been living in LA for the past three years and has played quite a few gigs with her 6 piece band whom she mostly met while street performing her music at the Venice Beach Boardwalk. They have played in places such as the Mint, the Hotel Cafe, the Viper room in Hollywood, and are currently doing a Sofar Sounds mini tour, putting on bi-monthly intimate concerts for the internationally renowned music brand. 

Leila is coming back to her steel city hometown on August 17th to do a live concert at the original Pittsburgh Winery and will be performing and promoting her new EP  ‘Still Dreaming’ - a fusion of funkadelic jazz and bluesy soulful serenades, collaborating on production with Grammy Award winning producer Tristan Boston. The 6 track project is set to release August 23rd on all platforms. She will be accompanied on stage by fellow Pittsburgh artists Diarra Imani, SpecialK, Buscrates, Landon Thomas, and Louie Castle.
